As you may know, Hendersonville Quarry has responsibly served the county since 1962, supplying the area with high-quality construction aggregates that are required to support our economy and build and maintain everything from local roads and bridges, homes, schools, office and medical buildings to critical infrastructure.

We recently filed an Optimization Plan with the County that will help keep local construction, maintenance, and infrastructure costs affordable while keeping additional truck traffic and related emissions from local roads.

Our application updates the County ordinance that was established nearly two decades ago. It promotes safe, efficient design and operations, by allowing our engineers to streamline how we use the site under the regulation of our State Mining Permit to responsibly access and process the rock that is our inventory in the ground.

The plan is not about increasing demand or production; it’s about optimizing the use of existing resources and land to ensure safe and efficient operations. In total we are proposing to keep 200,000+ trucks off local roads that would otherwise need to travel across the County over the next 5-10 years. If adopted, we are required to get additional permits. Overall, we expect it to take years to fully activate the future use areas north of Nix Road.
